Airdog uses a cartridge/metal collecting plate which filters particles down to 14 nanometres in size. A virus ranges in size from 20 – 400 nanometres. A HEPA filter at best filters particles down to 0.1 microns, 100 nanometres.

How the system operates:

Polluted air is drawn into the Airdog X8 Plasma Air cleaner by our super low operating noise fan.

1. Airborne particles are guided through a washable pre-filter which removes larger pollutants like hair pet dander and dust.
2. The next stage of air cleaning treatment is for the air to be passed through the washable plasma ion chamber and are electrically charges the air particles. This removes 99.99% of bacteria and airborne viruses.
3. The next stage of the process is for the air to be filtered through electrostatic washable filter cartridge made up of metal plates. This allows PM2.5 plant, pollen and smaller dust particles to be caught easily onto the enclosed series of metal plates built into the washable filter cartridge.
4. The final stage of air treatment is for the air to be drawn further still through the Airdog carbon air filter process. Even the finest of particles such as cigarette smoke, voc’s and other strong odours and fumes are removed. This progressive design configuration of filter media packed with layers of carbon pellets designed to absorbs odours and fumes. When the filter needs to be replaced (approximately every six months), simply open the lid, remove the old filters and replace with the new ones. This is a very simply and straight forward procedure and no tools are required to carry out this task. An additional fact is that the filters do not require washing weekly or additives.
